(Yeah I know, no Disney update journal yet, bah.)
Sakuracon is next week, and as usual I'm scrambling to get last minute things done. MY LIFE. Extra scrambling due to a first for me: having two new costumes being debuted at the same convention. STRESS. WOE. EXCITEMENT.
My complaining aside, here's my cosplay schedule for the con:
Day 0: Marty McFly (Back to the Future)
Day 1: Hit-Girl (Kick-Ass)
Day 2: Sweeney Todd
Day 3: Marty McFly
This year my main costume focus is Hit-Girl, and I'm ridiculously excited that costume is finally, FINALLY ready to wear. I've only been wanting to do that costume for... 3 years? Yeah. Pretty excited. In the process of making my Mindy Stick, and if the weather stops being shitty I might actually be able to finish it. 8(
Tommy and I will also be two of the Captains for the new Cards Against Con panel, so if you're going you should definitely hit up that panel.
Here's a photo of my Hit-Girl tac gear that I put together after researching the parts used in the movie:

Specs:
- 2 Bianchi UM84 holsters (movie accurate model)
- 2 pairs of plastic brass knuckles (fully functional but went with plastic in order to get them past con security)
- Smith & Wesson boot knife sheath on shoulder (movie accurate model, not taped down in photo)
- Hand-made prop smoke grenade with movie-accurate font
- Bianchi tac belt
- Belt keepers
It's heavy to wear, that's for sure.
SPEAKING OF HEAVY.
YOU GUYS. MARTY MCFLY. SO EXCITED FOR THAT COSTUME TOO. BECAUSE MARTY. I'll also have a hoverboard with me! BECAUSE HOVERBOARDS.
I'm going to get more, "HEY MCFLY!"s than I realize. Oh boy.
Here's a photo of my denim jacket:

So if you're going to Sakuracon, I'll see you there!!!
